W dniu 20 grudnia 2025 r. w Centrum Wystawienniczo-Konferencyjnym w Białymstoku odbyła się promocja monografii naukowej Dziedzictwo synodalności, przygotowanej przez Katedrę Teologii Katolickiej Uniwersytetu w Białymstoku. Wydarzenie cieszyło się dużym zainteresowaniem, gromadząc liczne grono słuchaczy – przedstawicieli środowiska akademickiego, duchowieństwa oraz osób zainteresowanych problematyką synodalności w Kościele. Spotkanie stanowiło jednocześnie podsumowanie i zakończenie realizacji programu „Doskonała Nauka II”, dofinansowanego ze środków Ministra Nauki i Szkolnictwa Wyższego.
Podczas promocji ks. A. Proniewski, ks. L. Jakoniuk i ks. T. Kasabuła – redaktorzy tomu i zarazem autorzy poszczególnych artykułów – przedstawili główne założenia publikacji, podkreślając, że synodalność nie jest jedynie odpowiedzią na aktualne wyzwania Kościoła, lecz drogą głęboko zakorzenioną w jego biblijnej i historycznej tradycji. Monografia ukazuje rozwój idei synodalności od czasów apostolskich, przez epokę Ojców Kościoła i średniowiecze, aż po współczesność.
Publikacja stanowi III tom serii wydawniczej „Teologia (w) dialogu”, redagowanej przez Katedrę Teologii Katolickiej Uniwersytetu w Białymstoku, i łączy perspektywy biblijne, teologiczne, historyczne oraz kanoniczne. Redakcja wyraziła także podziękowanie autorom z Polski jak i z zagranicy za owocną współpracę naukową, podkreślając, że część artykułów opublikowano w języku angielskim w celu upowszechniania badań i poszerzenia kręgu odbiorców. Podziękowania skierowano również do Wydawnictwa Uniwersytetu w Białymstoku za profesjonalne wsparcie redakcyjne w przygotowaniu monografii do publikacji.
Promotion of the Monograph The Heritage of Synodality
On 20 December 2025, the Exhibition and Conference Centre in Białystok hosted the promotion of the scholarly monograph The Heritage of Synodality, prepared by the Chair of Catholic Theology at the University of Białystok. The event attracted considerable interest, bringing together a large audience that included members of the academic community, clergy, and individuals interested in the issue of synodality in the Church. The meeting also marked the summary and formal completion of the programme “Excellent Science II”, funded by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.
During the promotion, Rev. Andrzej Proniewski, Rev. Leszek Jakoniuk, and Rev. Tadeusz Kasabuła—the editors of the volume and authors of individual chapters—presented the main assumptions of the publication. They emphasized that synodality should not be understood merely as a response to current challenges facing the Church, but rather as a path deeply rooted in its biblical and historical tradition. The monograph traces the development of the idea of synodality from apostolic times, through the era of the Church Fathers and the Middle Ages, up to the present day.
The publication constitutes the third volume of the editorial series “Theology (in) Dialogue”, edited by the Chair of Catholic Theology at the University of Białystok, and brings together biblical, theological, historical, and canonical perspectives. The editors also expressed their gratitude to the authors from Poland and abroad for their fruitful scholarly cooperation, highlighting that some of the contributions were published in English in order to promote academic research and make it accessible to a wider international readership. Words of thanks were likewise addressed to the University of Białystok Press for its professional editorial support in preparing the monograph for publication.
